Alternus Clean Energy’s Strategic Move: Acquiring 80 MW of Domestic Solar

Alternus Clean Energy, a prominent name in the renewable energy sector, has recently announced its plans to acquire an 80 MW portfolio comprising 33 operating PV projects situated across eight U.S. states. This significant move underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy assets and capitalizing on growth opportunities in the U.S. market.

The portfolio acquisition comes with pre-established agreements boasting an average remaining term of 12 years, covering 16 different counterparties. With a total consideration of approximately $60 million, including existing project debt, Alternus intends to finance the acquisition at the project level, targeting completion by the end of the current quarter.

While the acquisition marks a significant leap for Alternus, the closing of this transaction is contingent upon certain conditions, including restructuring and assumption of existing debt. Upon successful completion, it is anticipated that the company’s foothold in the domestic solar sector will be further strengthened, positioning it for sustained growth and success.
