NYPA’s Call for Collaboration in Renewable Development Opportunities

The New York Power Authority (NYPA) has taken a significant leap in advancing the development of renewable energy generating projects in the state by issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ). This initiative aims to pre-qualify eligible development companies and investors to collaborate with NYPA on the development of renewable energy projects, including PV, wind, battery storage, and related transmission.

NYPA foresees the pre-qualifications extending up to five years, with the anticipation of inviting qualified respondents to respond to future Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or other procurement offerings. Responses to the RFQ are due by April 9, with NYPA aiming to inform respondents of their decision by the end of May.

This initiative by NYPA reflects a proactive approach to fostering collaboration in the renewable energy sector and underlines the Authority’s commitment to achieving a sustainable energy future for New York.
