SolarEdge Announces Strategic Restructuring Plan – Reducing Global Workforce

SolarEdge recently unveiled its comprehensive restructuring plan, which encompasses a significant alteration in its workforce by reducing approximately 900 employees, accounting for around 16% of its global workforce. This initiative, alongside other cost-cutting measures, aims to harmonize the company’s cost structure with the prevailing dynamics of the market.

Additionally, a part of the restructuring includes the cessation of manufacturing operations in Mexico, as well as manufacturing reductions in China. The company has also decided to discontinue its light commercial vehicle e-mobility activity. SolarEdge CEO, Zvi Lando, emphasized the significance of this strategic decision, characterizing it as a challenging yet crucial step to realign the company with the rapidly evolving market dynamics.

In expressing the company’s commitment to its departing colleagues, Lando stressed the importance of treating them with respect and gratitude for their contributions. Moreover, the company is dedicated to providing support to those undergoing the transition. This move underscores SolarEdge’s unwavering confidence in the long-term expansion of the solar energy market and its prominence in the smart energy sector.

It’s noteworthy that these changes will not impede the company’s strategic direction and priorities.
