National Grid Renewables has announced the commencement of construction on its Unbridled solar project, situated in Henderson and Webster Counties, Ky. Expected to produce 160 MW, Unbridled is set to become Kentucky’s foremost solar energy producer upon its operationalization next year, marking a significant step toward the state’s clean energy aspirations.

Expressing enthusiasm about the project, Blake Nixon, president of National Grid Renewables, emphasized the company’s pride in overseeing the construction of the most substantial solar renewable energy initiative in Kentucky. Nixon also underscored the project’s alignment with National Grid Renewables’ dedication to driving the clean energy transition, thereby fostering rural economies through the creation of new tax revenue streams and jobs across the nation.

Moreover, Unbridled Solar has pledged to channel $800,000 through a dedicated project charitable fund over the initial 20 years of its operations, underscoring its commitment to community welfare and sustainable development.
