With a colossal capacity of 679 MW DC of reliable solar energy and co-located storage of 1 GWh, the Oberon project marks a notable milestone in the pursuit of sustainable energy solutions.

The Oberon project is poised to make a significant impact, generating enough clean energy to power more than 207,000 homes annually. This remarkable feat aligns seamlessly with the goals set forth by the Inflation Reduction Act, as the project incorporates American-made equipment and adheres to prevailing wage regulations. Notably, the Oberon project incorporates First Solar modules from Ohio, NX Horizon smart solar trackers from Nextracker, and American-made structural steel.

In its commitment to local economies and sustainable practices, the project features co-located 1 GWh of storage built with batteries sourced from Tesla’s battery facility in Lathrop, California. By incorporating these American-made components, Intersect Power demonstrates its dedication to facilitating a robust domestic supply chain while contributing to the clean energy transition.

As the first project to undergo the streamlined approach under the Bureau of Land Management Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan, the Oberon project embodies a groundbreaking development in renewable energy. This plan, a result of six years of collaboration between various stakeholders including the federal government, conservation groups, Native American tribes, the renewable energy industry, utilities, and the public, sets out to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of renewable energy development.

Intersect Power secured funding for the construction of the Oberon project through the broader portfolio financing initiative announced in September of last year. This comprehensive financing plan allowed the company to close on portfolio-level term debt, tax equity, and construction financing commitments.
