Six Flags Magic Mountain, in collaboration with Solar Optimum and DSD Renewables (DSD), is set to revolutionize renewable energy in California with the construction of a groundbreaking solar carport and energy storage system. This project will not only make Six Flags Magic Mountain the largest single-site commercial renewable energy project in California but also the largest solar project dedicated to a for-profit organization in the entire United States.

At the heart of this ambitious venture lies a 637,000 square foot solar carport, ingeniously constructed above both the main guest parking lot and the team member parking lot. Additionally, the installation will boast 30 electric vehicle charging spaces in the guest parking lot, further promoting sustainable transportation.

Furthermore, the solar installation will incorporate a cutting-edge battery storage system capable of producing approximately 2 MW of power. With a capacity of up to 8 MWh, this storage system can be deployed daily, ensuring uninterrupted access to clean, renewable energy.

The Magic Mountain project represents the third solar installation undertaken by Six Flags. Their properties in northern California at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and in New Jersey at Six Flags Great Adventure have already successfully implemented on-site solar capabilities, boasting a combined total of over 30 MW in fully operational solar power systems.
