EDF Renewables North America, a prominent independent power producer and service provider, recently announced the signing of a significant power purchase agreement (PPA) with El Paso Electric (EPE), a leading regional energy provider in west Texas and southern New Mexico. The 20-year PPA encompasses the power generated by the upcoming Milagro Solar and the Milagro Storage Project, expected to commence commercial operation in 2025.
Located in the Santa Teresa region of Doña Ana County, New Mexico, the Milagro Solar+Storage project will be situated on undeveloped private land. It is estimated that this venture will generate around 200 employment opportunities during the peak construction phase. Furthermore, the project is projected to produce approximately 469,500 MWh of clean energy annually.
The collaboration between EDF Renewables North America and El Paso Electric marks an important milestone in advancing sustainable and renewable energy solutions.
