Arizona Public Service Signs PPA for CO Bar Solar Power, Battery Storage

Clenera, an Enlight Company specializing in utility-scale solar farms and energy storage, recently announced the signing of a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Arizona Public Service (APS), Arizona’s largest utility. This landmark agreement involves the development of a solar and storage complex known as the CO Bar complex, located just outside of Flagstaff, Arizona.

Under the terms of the PPA, Clenera will provide APS with 258 MW of solar power and 824 MWh of battery storage. The CO Bar complex, a subsidiary of Enlight Renewable Energy, will be one of the largest renewable energy installations in the United States, with a total capacity of 1.2 GW and 824 MWh of battery storage.

This agreement represents the third power purchase agreement signed at the CO Bar complex, but notably the first one involving battery storage. With the execution of this PPA, the entire complex is now contracted to leading utilities in Arizona. Construction of the complex is expected to commence by the end of the year and will be completed in phases over the course of 2025.
