Heliene and Nexamp Seal Huge Module Deal for Community Solar

Nexamp, the nation’s largest community solar provider, has recently forged a strategic partnership with Heliene, Inc., a prominent supplier of solar modules made in North America. This groundbreaking collaboration signifies the largest community solar module order in the history of the United States.

This remarkable order allows Nexamp unparalleled access to a staggering 1.5GW of solar modules. These modules will be produced in Heliene’s state-of-the-art facility in Minnesota. Over the next five years, they will play a pivotal role in the development and construction of approximately 400 new community solar projects across the country. As a result, more than a quarter of a million U.S. households will benefit from clean energy savings while simultaneously bolstering the supply of renewable energy on the grid.

Heliene, recognizing the potential for growth, expanded its facility in November 2022. With additional expansions planned for September 2023, the manufacturing capacity of domestic solar modules will increase significantly. This achievement became possible through the extension and amplification of investment tax credits for clean energy resources under the Inflation Reduction Act.

To showcase the far-reaching implications of this momentous solar order, Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm and Senator Tina Smith (D-Minn.) recently visited Heliene’s solar manufacturing facility in Mountain Iron, Minnesota. This visit provided an opportunity to witness firsthand how this historic solar order will be produced, reinforcing the commitment of both companies to clean energy production.

The partnership between Nexamp and Heliene extends beyond increasing the manufacturing capacity of domestic solar modules. It will also facilitate further research and development initiatives and create nearly 1,000 green jobs, contributing to local economic growth within the Iron Range region.

The partnership between Heliene and Nexamp marks a significant milestone in the quest for sustainable energy solutions. With access to a remarkable 1.5GW of solar modules, their collaborative efforts will pave the way for the development of numerous community solar projects, benefitting hundreds of thousands of households across the United States. Furthermore, this partnership signifies the progress and commitment of the nation towards renewable energy production, creating green jobs, and boosting the local economy.
